Edo Kars, still photographer / director

Edo Kars, born in The Hague, studied Photography and Audiovisuals at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
As a student he already received several nominations in the Dutch PANL Awards. He now is a member of the PANL board (interim chairman).

Edo Kars works as a photographer internationally out of the center of Amsterdam, with agents in the US, Germany and France. Because of his curiosity and open mind his field of activity keeps on growing: people, portraits, landscapes, cars, locations, interiors, lifestyle.

His work is rewarded many times by ADCN , Cannes Lions, EuroBest, Clio awards, Communication arts, American Photography, Graphis and Montreux. Clients involve ABN AMRO, ING Bank, Peugeot, Honda, Audi, SEAT, Ursus Vodka, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Gaz de France, Philips, NIKE, Volvo and BMW.

In 2001 Edo Kars received the prestigious European Epica Photography Award (Stone Prize), last year he received a merit as well as a silver award in the British AOP Awards and this year he won a first prize in the Photography Lucie Awards (USA) and achieved 10 honorable mentions.

Edo started directing tv commercials about 8 years ago. After joining several production companies as a director he decided to concentrate on still photography and only shoot tv commercials on the side if requested. These productions has for example involved worldwide used commercials for ABN AMRO Bank and URSUS Vodka.
