William Eggleston (fotógrafo, 1939)

William Eggleston nace en Memphis, Tennessee ( EE UU ) en julio del 1939.

Su interés por la fotografía se remonta a 1962, cuando descubre el trabajo de Walker Evans y de Henry Cartier-Bresson.

A partir de 1966 se inclina por la fotografía en color. Es considerado un pionero entre los fotógrafos contemporáneos por su exploración del potencial artístico de la fotografía en color. Hasta ese momento la fotografía en color es menospreciada debido en parte a la no permanencia de los colores en el papel y por otro lado a que la fotografía artística se consideraba exclusivamente cualidad del blanco y negro.

Su trabajo comienza a ser reconocido en los años setenta del siglo pasado, cuando comienza a realizar diversas exposiciones.

Pero es a partir de 1976 cuando es reconocido mundialmente al presentar una exposición en el Museo de Arte Moderno de Nueva York. En 1989 publica su libro The Democratic Forest con una introducción de Eudora Welty. (más)

Un coche totalmente futurista, mezcla entre automóvil y avión.
